Swim Offs
The conference swim-off meet will be held at Dysart 7/8/17. In this meet, all of the Big Six Swim Club teams compete. Not all WASC swimmers will swim. Time trials and coach assessment, along with swimmer availability, will determine who is entered. There is one entry allowed per event for each team. Swimmers are allowed to swim in a maximum of 2 individual events and 2 relays. Also, BSSC rules state the swimmer must have swam in 2 conference meets to qualify. The assessment is also based on the swimmer’s attendance, attitude, and cooperation along with their season times and improvements. Swimmers arrive by 7:55 am to set up camp, WASC warmup begins at 8:20, Parade of Teams at 8:45, and the meet events begin at 9 am.

Dysart, the host of 2017 Swim Offs, asked us to share the below information regarding this event:
Timers: Each team needs to provide 3 volunteers to be timers or more if they'd like to work in shifts/have breaks.
Warm Up Times:
- 7:40 - Dysart
- 8:00 - Dike, Parkersburg & Oelwein
- 8:20 - Indee and Waverly
- 8:40 - Clear pool
- 8:45 - Parade of Teams
Sportsmanship Voting: Each team gets one vote (coaches ask their swimmers) and the 3 timers from each team get one vote. If there is a tie the officials will vote between the tied teams.
Coach/Parent Relay: If there is enough interest we will hold a coach/parent relay at the conclusion of Swim Offs.
Team Areas: Each team will be assigned a camp area. We ask that swimmers NOT set up camp with their parents in the spectator areas. They may sit with their parents as allowed by their coaches but we don't have room for their blankets and sport umbrellas to be in the spectator area.
Spectators: No filming or photography from behind the starting blocks. Please do not congregate near the Meet Starter, on the concrete at either end of the lanes or on the concrete area from the swimmer benches along the south walkway to the starting blocks. Please be courteous of Swim Officials and the space they need to do their job.
Concessions will have the following hot foods: breakfast burritos, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, pizza, macaroni and cheese.
No pets are allowed inside the fenced-in pool property.
Vehicle Parking: Lincoln Street is One Way with limited parking in front of the pool so we will be using the parking lot north of the elementary school (enter from Clark St) and also provide parking on the lawn across from the pool house. Parking is also available on area streets.
Bus Parking: After dropping swimmers off please have drivers proceed to the Union Middle School parking lot. Due to road construction on West St this lot is only available from the south entrance. To access bus parking from the pool: Right on State Street, Right on Iowa Street to stop sign and proceed into school parking lot.
BSSC Swim Off t-shirts: A limited supply of sizes and colors will be sold at the meet.
